The Client Brief
For this project, we were called to a farm located in the picturesque Kingswear in Torbay, for a specific requirement from our client. Our client needed assistance with the felling and processing of Ash trees that were either dead or suffering from ash die-back disease.
Following the removal and cutting back of trees, our client requested that the processed wood be turned into rings so it could be used as firewood, while the branches were to be neatly stacked in a pile to be burnt in the fields.
The Challenges
The project presented several challenges. The most significant of these was access to the trees, as the farmland was riddled with steep fields and intricate pathways that made ingress difficult.
To further complicate matters, we had to use a quad bike to transport our equipment to and from the Ash Tree.
What We Did
Despite the arduous access to the affected trees, we managed to devise a successful strategy for this project using the available resources. Our team skillfully navigated the rugged terrain using the quad bike to ferry equipment around and successfully executed the felling and processing of the diseased Ash trees.
We ensured that the dead trees were adequately managed to allow surrounding trees to flourish and to reduce risk to the public due to potential falling trees over public footpaths, which were present across the site.
The Outcome
The outcome was yet another project completed to the satisfaction of our client. The dead trees were effectively managed, processed into firewood, and stacked in the field ready for burning as they requested.
This particular client is a return customer for Kneebone Trees and we already have a great relationship with them, as they return to us whenever tree care is required on their farm. The successful completion of this project further strengthened our relationship with them and reinforced their trust in our abilities to answer their arboricultural needs promptly and efficiently.
